Winter in Berlin

Spend the winter in Berlin, experience snow and ice in the city: whether tobogganing or ice skating, there are countless addresses for winter sports enthusiasts.

As long as the lakes are not frozen over, ice rinks are booming. Ice bathing and winter swimming are also becoming increasingly popular. You can find some tips here.

In Friedrichshagen you can do pirouettes right on Lake Müggelsee. Young and old can really let off steam here on 600 square meters of running space. If you need a little variety, you can put your aiming accuracy to the test with curling.

Until February 25, 2024
Until the end of February, the Grünau lido will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a 1000 m² ice rink, winter huts and playgrounds. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday the winter world invites you to an ice skating disco. Very popular!

RÜBEZAHL ice rink on MÜGGELSEE
Until March 2024
You can let off steam in any weather on around 300 square meters of covered ice here at Müggelsee in Köpenick. With skate rental!

Speed skating hall SPORTFORUM BERLIN
Until March 31, 2024
The Sportforum Berlin speed skating hall in Hohenschönhausen invites you to ice skating and an ice disco. Open daily and easily accessible with the M5 tram!

When temperatures are frosty, ice bathers head into the cold waters of Berlin's lakes to strengthen their immune system, experience nature and enjoy each other's company. You can organize ice bathing in Berlin, for example here:

The BERLINER SEEHUNDE are organized in an association based in Hohenschönhausen. The seals have around 130 members aged 12 to almost 90 who go swimming in the Orankesee outdoor pool every Sunday at 10 a.m. from mid-September to the end of April. The highlight of the season is the “Winter Swimming in Berlin” event on every second Saturday in January, which is celebrated as an ice carnival. Winter swimmers from all over Germany get into the water in costume and then end the day comfortably together.

The ICE DIPPERS swim regularly and in small groups in the Plötzensee, Weißen See, Schlachtensee and on the regatta bank in Alt-Stralau. Through ice bathing, participants want to test their limits and develop personally.

Ice bathing together is also possible in the STRANDBAD TEGELSEE. The lido is open between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the low season. Every Sunday at 1 p.m. until mid-February, courageous people meet there for ice bathing and a campfire. There is coffee and waffles at the kiosk.

There is a fixed date every year at SEEBAD FRIEDRICHSHAGEN: everyone meets there to swim on the third Sunday in January. Participants can warm up in the mobile sauna by the lake or by the fireplace.
