"Ordering principle"

The new "ordering principle" and the broker commission

Who pays the broker? Here you can find out more about the new ordering principle and the broker commission.

Anyone who hires an agent to buy or sell a property usually saves a lot of time and benefits from the agent's experience and expertise. Important to know: the broker's commission is a success fee. Only when the purchase contract is concluded is he entitled to the commission - usually agreed in the brokerage contract.

From December 23, 2020, the ordering principle for properties for sale, which previously only applied to rental apartments, will apply. This means that a shared brokerage commission between buyer and seller is implemented. The buyer of the property pays a maximum of half of the commission costs then, the other half must be paid by the seller.
